Amendment of Section 507.B.2 of the Village of Leicester Zoning Law

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, after hearing the comments from the Public Hearing on October 22, 2018, during the Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Leicester on October 29, 2018, Mayor Briffa motioned, 2nd by Trustee Rizzo, to adopt Local Law #2 – 2018. “A local law to Amend Code Section 507.B.2 of the Village of Leicester Zoning Law to add subsection “h” which prohibits the erection of signs on property owned or otherwise controlled by the Village.

 

BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Leicester as follows: Section 507.B.2 of the Village of Leicester Zoning Law is amended to add subsection “h” which shall provided has follows: “h. No signs shall be placed on, erected on or occupy space on any property owned or controlled by the Village of Leicester unless such sign is placed or erected thereon by the Village in furtherance of a Village purpose.”  This local law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.  Vote as follows: Trustee Jacobs - Aye; Trustee Rizzo - Aye; Mayor Briffa - Aye  [Motion Carried 3-0]

Amendment of Section 507.B.2 of the Village of Leicester Zoning Law     

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Village Board of Trustees at the village Hall, 52 South Parkway, Leicester, New York, on the 22nd day of October 2018, at 6:30
p.m., on a proposal to enact by local law a complete amendment to the Zoning Law of the Village of Leicester, as follows: The proposed local law will amend Section 507.B.2 of the Village of Leicester Zoning Law to add a subsection “h” to said Section which will prohibit the placement or erection of signs on Village owned property other than signs placed or erected by the Village in furtherance of a Village purpose.

 

For more specific descriptions and more detailed information regarding the proposed amendment a draft of the proposed local law has been prepared and made available for inspection at the office of the Village Clerk in the Village Hall at 52 South Parkway, Leicester, New York, which draft may be examined by any interested person during regular office hours. Any and all interested persons will be heard at said public hearing.

The annual report of the Village of Leicester for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2018 has been filed in the Office of the State Comptroller.  A copy of the report is available in the Village Clerk’s Office, 52 South Parkway, Leicester NY and on the website at www.villageofleicester.org for inspection by any interested persons.
